The Challenge
This project began with a home situated in a high-rise building, where the owner intended to convert the space into a fully functional homestay. However, the journey wasn’t without its hurdles. The previous contractor was unable to provide a design solution that met the owner’s vision and needs. On top of that, the client wanted to retain most of the existing furniture, which posed a challenge in ensuring the new design could seamlessly integrate with what was already there. Another key issue was the lack of adequate storage throughout the unit, making the space feel cluttered and impractical especially for a homestay setup that requires efficient space usage.
Our Solution
We approached the project by redesigning the entire house with a cohesive and practical concept in mind. Every area of the home received its own tailored 3D design, allowing the client to clearly visualise the transformation before any physical work began. Our design direction was based on a Modern Contemporary style, clean lines, neutral tones, and smart use of textures to create a welcoming yet elegant ambiance.
One of our core focuses was maximising storage without compromising aesthetics. We strategically positioned built-in and hidden storage elements to make sure the home could hold all essentials neatly, especially with the intent of hosting multiple guests. By incorporating the client’s existing furniture into the layout, we created a space that felt both fresh and familiar blending function, comfort, and style in one harmonious flow.
